Anxiety attack at new job

Starting a new job can be stressful for anyone, but it is especially so for those who are prone to anxiety attacks.

One may ask, why be stressful when starting a new job? Well there are many reasons. People who suffer from anxiety attacks often think about things that many others would not. Starting a new job for many of us is a frightning situation. You have just landed that great job...but what do you do? When is the lunch break? the toilets? who is in charge...? where do i find a paperclip? Will anybody actually want to talk to the new guy?

As silly or as trivial as it may seem, starting a new job is a BIG DEAL.

So how do you cope? While its natural to have a few butterflies before the big day, its all a matter of reasoning with yourself and not letting things get out of proprtion.

First understand that everyone was new at some point. Everyone in your new job experienced the same kinds of things that you are experiencing now. Most will understand and empathise with you a little that you are new and accomodate accordingly.

Things you can do to make it a little easier on yourself is to be friendly and show enthusiasm with your new position. Make sure you ask lots of questions and try to memorize vital information as it relates to your job. Secondly dont be afraid of introducing yourself and getting a feel for the vibration and flow of your new work environment.
